I have been using the above template to post the opening sentence to an article with a 107 pixel picture and H3 title for over a year now. The stories are housed in the Story Library while the Stories Widget only has one story in it which gets updated separately. It thus becomes a series of left aligned templates.

However, you have done a reworking of the template and it no longer works properly. I have just spent way over an hour trying to figure out the cell size where the picture is; the data is not there when I click on cell properties.

    Please go to drydenrotary.org.

As you will see the right cell with the text doesn't line up with where the former right cell system did. I did guess at the picture cell size and did get it to move left but too far left. Plus the picture decreased in size.

Also when I wanted to delete the cell it was one highlight and one cut. Now it is likely to be multiple cuts.

From my perspective this change is a disaster. Formerly it was easy and minimal work. It no longer is unless you can clue me in to make it work like the former template.

This morning I did another post and did not resize the picture to 107 pixel width. It appears the default size is now something larger. I changed the other post which caused the Thread to be created to be the same size, but I'm not crazy about the size as I think it is too big.

    Hello John,

Thank you for letting us know you were experiencing some problems when formatting your new Stories in your 'Most Recent' story.

Reviewing the site, I see the widget on the homepage containing your 'Most Recent' story with it's custom html and the formatting issues you had described.

Custom HTML code typically falls outside the scope of our support, however to assist you further with this request, I have taken a quick look-over for the code.

Upon closer inspection, the latest 2 additions have been added using our template 'Image Left Article Right', but the remaining Story Links in the 'Most Recent' story are using a custom html format of linked heading, then linked image, and text.

This custom format is not part of our templates and this is why these stories display differently than the previous stories.

To continue using the custom html format for the previous stories, please copy the code from previous entries and replace the links for the two new stories you had mentioned here.

We do have a 'Home Page Stories' widget that works to automatically manage stories from the Story Library, is there a reason you prefer to manually list and link these stories, within a story, on the widget?

I am also experiencing issues with templates. We were using the 'image left, article right' template on our upcoming speaker custom page (https://rotaryspokane.com/page/upcoming-speakers) without issue previously. Now it wants to format this into different boxes that align the article right next to the photo and I have to insert additional spaces into the text to make it pleasing to the eye for reading. Additionally, the two different boxes that appear on the article side of things are confusing since you can't actually put anything in what appears to be a second text box?

    Hi Jenna,

Thank you for posting this. There are some extra options I'd like to explain further.

    1. You can add a few pixels of 'image padding' around any image. This is like an invisible border that adds space between images and the text beside it. These 2 values are called 'Hspace' and 'Vspace' (Horizontal & Vertical space). You can start with a value of 3 (pixels) and increase from there to your liking.

    2. The blank area below your text is not a second input box, but the remaining whitespace remaining to go to reach the bottom of the image on the left. In other words if you kept typing text that whitespace would get filled in. If your text content becomes greater than the height of your image, the text side would keep increasing and there would now be whitespace below your image on the left.

Here is an illustration for you:

If you have further questions please post again.

It has been a long time since I raised this issue Omar but I had not forgotten your question. However, I could not immediately recall why I had created that extra step/work. The other day I visited the "WayBackMachine" and looked at our earlier formats/designs. We had traditionally used the 3 column format. With your new designer and current trends I switched to a 2 column format. As you know our club tires to create a story a week based on our weekly speaker. We see that as news for the community and hope it attracts local citizens to the site. With just two columns and many stories and many widgets plus many ads we had much spirited debate over their placement and how far you had to scroll to find things, a debate that still occurs today. The goal was to compress the area on stories because ClubRunner's stories widget used up twice the space as the Left picture insert system. I also took many of the widgets both essential and custom and placed them together. I placed that information near the bottom; the Club wanted it at the top, where you will now find it. I am also using your "news" widget for our Foundation news and placed it before our "stories" news. I would appreciate your analysis of our design.
