I have set up some 'Calendar Events (Recurring)', which appear in the club calendar okay, buy do not appear in the 'Events' widget on the Home Page or in the Bulletin. These only apparently report events that are set up via the 'Event Planner'. Given that most of our events are recurring events, eg club meetings, regular fundraisers etc, is it possible to amend the widget so that it includes recurring items? Otherwise it makes the 'Calendar Events (Recurring) tool effectively redundant.

What's interesting about Richard's concern is that in our setup, all 'Calendar Events (Recurring)' items DO appear in the 'Events' widget, even if we don't want them to! For example, we promote our upcoming club meetings using the 'Speakers' widget (since we have a speaker each meeting), but they also appear in the 'Events' widget, which is redundant.
I'd suggest adding a check box to all 'Calendar Events (Recurring)' items for whether or not you want items to appear in the home page, Calendar, Events List, and Bulletin separately-just like you do for items created using Event Planner. Right now the only checkbox available is 'Show on Website', which apparently controls everything online and seems kind of silly.

That is interesting. I can find no setting in the Events widget or in the Calendar module that provides the option to include Calendar Events (Recurring) in the Events Widget. We also do not get items listed in the Speakers module listed in the Events widget unless we add them as an event - which we do as not all our club meetings have speakers. So if there is a way to have Calendar Events (Recurring) listed in the Events Widget I would love to know how to do it.

From what I can tell, there are no settings in the "Upcoming Events" widget to include or hide recurring calendar items; they just appear there automatically for us! Have you put a ticket into ClubRunner Support asking why they are not displayed? I would love to hear what they have to say.

    Hi Richard & Kari,

I can confirm that the Upcoming Events widget should show any MyEventRunner, Event Planner, and Calendar Item listings. For Event Planner, and MyEventRunner, you can choose to show or not show the event in various places (Widget, Events Listing, Events Calendar). For Calendar Items, they are only either displayed to everywhere or nowhere. This means Calendar Items should always be showing on your upcoming events widgets, if they're set to show at all.

The Speakers event type has its own widget to handle the upcoming speaker details, which is why it is not currently listed in the upcoming events widget.

I've shared this discussion with our product team as well for review in future updates to the platform.

If you'd like us to look at a specific example please share it with us here, however if there is a need for privacy please feel free to raise a support ticket!
