Club Runner Homepage Rolling Banner

Hello Maura,

Thank you for posting. I loaded your ClubRunner homepage. The rolling banner on top of your homepage with all the pictures that scroll in, we call this your "image carousel". What's happening is that, initially, it takes a few moments for a web browser to load in all your images - once loaded, the carousel starts moving.

There's not much we can do on our end, this is more common when there are several images (10 or more) the carousel needs to pre-load. Options for you:

1. Decrease the amount of images in your carousel, or,

2. Decrease the size of each image. I viewed your images, I notice that most of them have a lots of white space surrounding them. Eliminating that whitespace will make them smaller. Though I understand you may have put in all that whitespace to make all the different size images fit better together.

In this particular case there's no perfect answer, but I hope this will help you. The carousel will eventually load and start running, just after a few moments to pre-load everything. Please post again here if you have more questions.

 

Thank you so much. My question back to you is…how do you eliminate the white space? It wasn’t intentional. I just loaded pictures in to the carousel and they just went how they went. And if I reduce the pixel size, the pictures are too small to see. I think I posted a second question to the community about he to fill in that white space…to not just have one pic on each scroll. I’d love there there to be side-by-side pics so all that white space is filled in but I don’t know how to accomplish that. I did see an option where you could just upload one pic, or multiple pictures. Does uploading several at a time out several in the sane space?

You can eliminate all that white space, and even create photo "collages" (several images inside one photo) by using an image editor. Image editors are outside the scope of our CR support, but the most well known image editor (and also one of the most expensive) is Photoshop. Photoshop can do almost anything you might need.

But if you don't have access to Photoshop here's some free alternatives.

1. On a Windows PC try MS Paint (it's bundled free on all WinPCs). Paint 3D is the more feature rich version of Paint (still free), here's a guide from Microsoft:

2. On a Mac try "Preview" it's also bundled free on every Mac. It's a basic image editor tool like MS Paint is. Apple's guide:

3. "Pixlr" is a free image editor, it has a few features similar to Photoshop - however there's nothing to install. It works right inside your web browser.
