First, I think the program is well on its way to the next level - thank you. But the devil is in the details.

    Club Billing:
    • I am really looking forward to the improved Quickbooks integration. This would be a deal maker for our club.
    • There is no easy way to see statements - invoices yes, but no place to review and bulk send statements. A sizable portion of our members get confused by multiple invoices, and they need the summary statement.
    • There should be a way to enter in a note on a statement. I have worked around this by adding a $0.01 charge and perhaps a note saying, "I hope you can start paying down your balance" or whatever. That's a pretty kludgy way to do this.
    Contacts:
    • I am really missing the alphabetical index tabs to find contacts easily
    • I would like to see have an easier auto sort (ie. rather than click on Last Name, then search, just click on sort by last name and it's done)
    • Names should be listed by their sort order (ie. If you sort by last name, the name should appear as "Blow, Joe")
    • Is there a way to search the notes field? The notes field is essential, but potentially be very messy is multiple club members are adding to it. And, in the notes field, how about an option to date\timestamp any entries also with their source. One use for this search would be say, "search for all prospects from 1/1/24-6/30/24
    • I'd love it if the notes could appear in a popup window with a mouseover of each name.
    • Notes can be an extremely powerful database tool or an absolute mess - I'd love to see the former. Another feature that could make notes better would be tags specific to the notes section.
    Dashboards in General:
    • I'd like to see more columns on the dashboard sortable by columns. In particular, in the financial dashboard, rather than search, I wanted to simply click on the event column and see the listing sorted.
    • On the landing page of old ClubRunner, it was always annoying that headings weren't in alphabetical order. I still see a holdover in the Administrator landing page: Under Engagement is listed Communication, Events\Volunteering, and Attendance. My brain wants to see Attendance first.!
Has the new member (member success) module gone missing?

More to come as I do a deeper dive. Thanks for reading.

    Hello Rick,

Thank you for taking the time to share detailed feedback, let me do my best to help give insight where I can.

The Finance module is not yet complete on Nova, and something we’re actively working on right now. More updates on this front will be coming to the sandbox as it becomes available. As a note, Finances in Nova will be aggregated and less silo’ed and you can get a sneak preview of this by looking at the Financials tab in the member profile, or the Financials dashboard. I appreciate you commenting on the critical functionality for your club, and your comments about notes.

For your request for notes, I believe you want to be able to set a custom note per individual invoice? Under Nova, there is both a way to add general comments to all invoices, and you would be able to go edit individual invoices once they are created and add a personal note to them. Would this meet your needs?

Thanks for sharing the current issues you’re running into right now. I’ve shared this feedback with our team so we what we can do to improve on the sorting and display options.

When you say you wants notes available in a popup window. Do you mean the most recent note, or all of a users notes? A user could collect a very large amount of notes over their lifetime as a member. We could review the options of having popup on mouseover for an individual note while you are on that tab. You are able to add tags to notes when you create or edit them, please try that out and let us know what you think.

For the order of the blocks on the landing page, we try focus on most accessed, to least in each of the blocks in general. Communication is a little more important, and accessed more frequently, than Attendance. But I understand everyone's preferences are different on these sorts of items. We’re thinking about ways we can let users have more control over their dashboards in the long term for Nova.

Membership Success is not currently available on the sandbox while its being improved for Nova, but it will be available in a future update. Our primary goals for the Nova version of Membership Success is making it easier to work with, and harmonizing it with the new database Nova runs on. Membership Success was built for ClubRunner on Nova technology, before it was ready for the entire system. Now that we’re at that stage, it needs to re-integrated with the new system.

As an example right now for the current version of ClubRunner, your Membership Success prospects get “closed”, and that record only lives in the Membership Success module when they join the club. Under Nova, that record will just move to the full user record, and all of its history will stay with it keeping track of the individual's journey with the club.

Hi Zach - thanks again for the rapid reply, and especially for providing the sandbox.

Once again, I am looking forward to seeing the development of the finance module. At present, when a check is received from a member, I make an entry in Clubrunner, an entry in Quickbooks and scan it for deposit in our bank. Multiple entries provides multiple chances for errors (ask me how I know).

Re: notes on statements: exactly. Creating a personal note on a statement would suffice. Again, it would be used for gentle reminders - almost always to nudge for a payment.

Re: notes on members: good question. Here is my thinking - it's really easy to not look at the notes, ever. The tab is all the way to the right and it doesn't jump out at you. My thinking on the mouseover was to have the notes window become more obvious. Yet, if there was a way to search the notes, it could be very valuable. Tags would fill the bill. For example, in the notes section, Joe Blow has accounting experience, that would be handy to note and handy to search for. But if you weren't specifically looking for it, you wouldn't easily find it.

A little more control over dashboards, as you mentioned, would help. Presently, my eyes scan all over the place when I am trying to perform a task that I haven't done in a while. Then, after what seems like a good part of a minute (it's probably only seven seconds), I find it. As an example, I think Microsoft finally got it right in its settings module, where you can just search without having to go through all of the menu items. This is a minor nit, but one that I seem to encounter just often enough to bug me.

Re: Membership Success - I'm glad you're going to clean it up. In its present form it's too complex and too rigid. And oh yes, I am very happy you will be incorporating those records into the membership!

I'll keep poking around over the weekend and I'll try not to break anything.;)

    best,

    Rick
