Our club is hosting a Rotary event that includes all district Rotarians. Because this needs to run through the host club's online SAGE account, it is not an option to set the event on the District's website.

    Question:
When a district Rotarian (non-host club member) registers for a club event, are they able to register as a "member", even if not a member of the host club, or does there need to be a "guest" registration option? If the "guest" option is required, then in order to complete registration they must pay by credit card?

When a member from a different Club in the same District tries to register for an event created in Event Planner on your club, the other member would have to register as a guest and pay by credit card. Only members of the Club who is hosting the event can register without credit card. This may change at some point in the future.
There are two ways around this:
    1. Instead of using Event Planner, you could use MyEventRunner and any one could register with check payment. However this would require MyEventRunner Pro, which is a $1 per a registration.
    2. With the District's permission, we can add the Club's Sage account on the District and then a member with the right access level can create the event on the District. The Club then can copy the link and add it to their club's home page.

Thank you for the response. For future consideration: I would like to suggest a toggle option in the Club's event-payment set-up that would sync/mirror the Club event to the District Home Page (not the calendar). If registration was done through the District home page, then a required log-in could be treated like a member. (Not easy I know, just wanted to give a user perspective of how, when and where the decision to share this type of event could be made.)

While Option 2 is interesting, one issue is that District Exec.get automatic access to everything via position and not Clubrunner knowledge... in my district this option would be a nightmare in-waiting.

So at this time I just wrote in very big letters in the event description, that non-club members had to register as a guest and then set-up a mirrored event on the District page with a link to the club's registration page. So far that options seems to be working.

    You're welcome. Glad to help!
To make sure, you would like to have an option to be able to have Club events be displayed on the District Homepage in the "Upcoming Events" widget? At the moment we have it set to just display District Upcoming events. I am not sure if Districts would like clubs adding events onto their homepage.
At the moment, the register member option is locked just to the Club, we could open it up to every Rotarian or just to the members in the District. Which do you think would be good?

I am glad to hear it is working out so far.

While I would like to have the event on the District home page, to make it easier for people find an event, I understand your concern that not everyone would like to have a club event on their actual District home page. However, I do think there are events that could be District wide but hosted by clubs, like a golf outing, and it is confusing that they have register as a guest.

So your other option was to open it up to open to all District members. That would be good but maybe a compromise would be to make an additional option in the registration set-up: District Rotary Member that would open registration District Membership for the event. You would have CLUB MEMBER, DISTRICT ROTARY MEMBER, GUEST.

At the moment, if a Club would like to have their event on the District's homepage, the District could create a story or widget with the event details on the home page.
I have sent a suggestion to our Product team about having an option to push the event to the District's "Upcoming Events" widget, which is normally on the homepage. I have also added there should be a way how the District can remove the event from the widget if needed.

This would certainly make it easier for Members from the District to register. I have sent this feedback to our Product team about adding an option for "Other Members on the District"

I have be tardy in getting back to you on this. You team added a non-member registration that does allow me to manually register members from another club in the District. I want to say that this has been very helpful. Thank you.
