Hi, I'm the admin for our ClubRunner site and am trying to embed our Facebook Page to our site. To get the code do I have to be the admin for that Facebook Page? When I try to generate the code it doesn't work.

    Hi Thomas,

Thank you for sharing this question with us!

We have received similar requests for assistance with setting up the Facebook Plugin on the Club site and homepage. With these requests, we have created a 'Facebook Plugin Widget' and guide to help website designers create, set and configure the plugin with no HTML coding required. This plugin will stay up-to-date by automatically pulling content from the Club's Facebook page.

For a walk-through guide on how to add this widget to a Home page, existing page or new custom page in ClubRunner, click here:

If you have further questions, please feel free to reply to here, where all members on the community forum may give their ideas on how to make the best looking Facebook Plugin!

Thanks Omar! We have a Facebook Group. Sorry I did not mention that. The functionality for that seems a bit different. Not sure I will use it as I just want a feed from the page/group to the website and it seems all the plugin for the group just allows folks to join the group.

    Hi Thomas,

This is outside the scope of our regular ClubRunner support, however, I'm certain this may assist other clubs in your situation too.

If you have access to the club's Facebook account, you can create your own Facebook Page for your Rotary club, learn more here:
    https://www.facebook.com/help/104002523024878

Edit: A team member let me know there is a group plugin, though this doesn't support the feed functionality you're looking for. But just in case you or anyone else reading this post might want the information please see:
    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/group-plugin/#web

While we're unable to answer Facebook-related questions, please feel free to post again if you have any more questions.

Hi Omar and Mickey. The FB Plugin works but the timeline feed only works depending upon OS. Apple does not work but Android does. Chrome works but Bing does not.

    Hello Damian,

Thank you for posting, and I do apologize for this delayed reply post.

Testing for this issue on our Windows and Apple testing devices, as well as Android and iOS mobile devices, using Chrome, Microsoft Edge (Bing) and the Safari browsers, I do see that the Facebook Plugin widgets do load on my Windows and Android devices, using the Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers.

When testing on an Apple device, as well as iOS mobile device, I find that the Facebook Plugin 'Timeline', 'Events' and 'Messages' tabs in the plugin, do not load, however the Facebook page's 'Banner' does appear at the top of the Facebook Plugin widget.

Reaching out to our team to further investigate for this issue, I can confirm this does appear to be an issue on Facebook's and Apple Safari's ends, where the embedded Facebook Plugin Code from Facebook's Developers, does not operate on Apple desktop, and iOS mobile devices using the Safari browser at this time.

Unfortunately, our team would not be able to resolve this issue with Facebook's Plugin code, or Apple Safari's browser not being able to display the 'Timeline', 'Messages' or 'Events' tabs in the Facebook Plugin content.

I do know our team has reached out to Facebook regarding this Apple and iOS Facebook Plugin display issue for Apple devices, and I would suggest also reaching out to Facebook by posting on their Developer Community Forum, linked below:

Please let me know if you have any questions.
