Is there any way to change the default reply-to address behaviour and insert a specific member email address?

    Hi Richard,

With a regular club or District email - you can't set the email's 'reply-to' to someone other than the sender at this time. If you are sending an email then when any user clicks "respond" the response will go back to the primary email you have in your member profile.

However - this can be set differently inside a bulletin. If you go to the "Send" options in any bulletin look in the "Reply To" section. You can assign a custom name & email recipient. When a user responds to a club or District bulletin, the response can be routed to the person/email of your choice.

    Hi Mickey,
That works fine for a single target recipient but the real issue is the built in spam avoidance associated with group emails.
Where this becomes a real challenge for clubs is when you send out an urgent request for help for instance to a small or large group.
When someone responds, no one else sees it so the sender has to resend a message conveying the status of the request, perhaps multiple times.

Again, we understand why it’s this way but it would be helpful, especially for smaller group emails that wouldn’t risk spam detection, to be able to work out a respond all. This causes us to create a personal address in our individual email accounts and not use Clubrunner for mail of this type. Not difficult for small clubs but....

Another idea would be to be able to create a group email for a committee whereby you could ask the recipients to reply to the committee address, which could then be forwarded to all.

    Hi Robert,

We have a workaround since we can't do true "cc'ing" to all your recipients. This only works when composing an email message (not a bulletin) inside ClubRunner.

If you need to, you can send a list of the recipients you've chosen in "Step 1" of composing an email. In "Step 4" when composing an email there is an option checkbox "Send a list of recipients as attachment". What this does is to send a plain text file with all the names of your recipients. By default this option is unchecked.

UPDATE: my apologies I made a mistake in a previous response. I had mentioned email addresses are stored in this file, they are not. The contents of this plain text file have just the names of the recipients you sent the email to. This way you can look up those names/emails in the future based on this plain text file.

This is not a perfect system but our email system is built towards delivering emails to as many users as possible, and collecting reader stats as accurately (and safely) as possible, all the while without triggering spam filters, security alerts, etc.

Please do note - due to new international privacy laws we're evaluating how we can do this feature even more securely. In other words - this "Send a list of recipients as attachment" option may change or become a modified behaviour in the future.

If you have more questions please post again.
