Gender neither male nor female

    What happens if someone wants to join but does not identify as male or female since clicking on male or female seems to be mandatory

    I have been asking Rotary to have a new category of non-binary but nothing has been done. We had members asking for this in recent years. ClubRunner should at the very least have this although it cannot be reported to RI since they only have male/female.

    Thank you for posting and asking about this, this has come up for us in the past.

    I can let you know that Rotary and the ClubRunner team have very recently come up with a method so that we can perform RI database integration with those non-binary individuals who don't identify as male or female.

    This is still in early stage discussion at this time, let me speak further with our team to see if I am able to provide you more information.

    Hello Cathy and Cheryl,

    We were just informed last week by Rotary that these new options will become available soon. We will be implementing these new gender options, but I cannot provide any timeline or ETA at this time.

    Rotary already has these current genders available:

    - Male
    - Female

    Here are the two new gender options:

    - Self (with optional description field)
    - DNI (prefer not to identify)

    Please note all changes moving forward might be subject to change, but I’m happy to offer you this information as at this time, it’s the most up to date and recent.

    In our current system, please choose a gender (Male or Female) if a new, non-binary individual must be added or synced within ClubRunner. You can let these individuals know that you will be able to choose the two new gender options in the future once they become available in our system.

    Actually, they currently have 3 choices: Male, Female and None Given. This is already a problem because Clubrunner has only 2 choices and an entry is mandatory, breaking RI's data model.

    Hi Mark,

    That is correct, Rotary updated the MyRotary website to offer more choices, including a none given option. However, these same options were not available to us through the integration services Rotary provides. This is changing, and will be updating the system to support the new options.
