    Hello!

If I accidentally click on the wrong function, such as the X (delete) instead of the Pencil (edit), how do I "UNDO" the key strokes?

In applications such as Word, and many other, it is Control Key X and it will go back. This does not work in my clubrunner application.

I am forced to redo all the work previously completed.
    Thank you,
    Barb

    Hello Barb,

Thank you for sharing your question and feedback request on the ClubRunner Community.

While working in the 'Website Story' editor, or while working in a widget on the live page designer or bulletin designer, the 'Undo' hot-key is set the control key 'Ctrl' and the 'Z' key.

When adding or removing images, text or links, you can click Ctrl + Z keys (Or for Apple Devices, Command (CMD) + Z) to undo the most recent action in the editor. For an image of the editor that is enabled with hotkeys, please see Step 9, in this guide on creating a story on the Club website:
    https://www.clubrunnersupport.com/article/1304-how-to-create-and-edit-a-story

This undo function does not work for the page designer when removing widgets or adding widgets - the hotkey will not activate any function on the page. It will operate when editing content in a widget, however it will not function on the page designer.

Please note, any widget that has been used on the page and has received any updates, will automatically be saved to it's widget group.

For example, if a 'Text Only' pre-formatted widget is used on the page, when returning to edit the same page, you will find a 'Text Only 1' widget is available in the 'Pre-formatted Widget' grouping. This 'Text Only 1' widget includes the most recent content entered in the widget, and you can preview the widget content by clicking the 'Magnifying Glass' for the widget in the content section.

Note, new widgets are denoted by a plus icon ' + ' in the top-left of the widget, where existing widgets instead have this 'Magnifying Glass' icon in the top-right. Below, I have included an image from my sandbox account displaying the icons for a new 'Call to Action' widget, and a stored 'Call To Action 1' widget:
    upload_2020-12-3_13-58-37.png

After locating the saved widget, drag-and-drop the saved widget with the magnifying glass on the page, to restore the widget and it's content to the page. You can preview the saved widget's content by clicking the 'Magnifying Glass'.

I want to share from this feedback request, I have submitted a report to the Product team to include an 'Undo' key or hotkey when designing custom pages or the Club home page, in the new live page designer. The product team will review the feedback report as soon as they can.

Thank you for sharing your feedback while using the live designer for the pages, and please continue to share your questions and feedback with us on the ClubRunner Community.

    Have a wonderful day!

Hello Omar - Thank you for all the information. I do understand it all.

The hotkey, Control Z does work in the content, etc. But as you confirmed, it does not work when I accidently hit the X instead of the pencil (edit). However, it does not automatically save in the Preformatted Widgets. I have to recreate all the creative ideas and text I had typed. Hard to remember it.

I also know about the + and mag glass and the name automatically applied. Can this name be changed so I don't have to go through every mag glass to find what I'm looking for?
Also, can I delete my saved widgets? I can name the the custom page global and custom page specific widgets. SURE HELPS.

    Thank you,
    Barb

    Hello Barb,

Thank you for following up with me.

You are correct, the undo hotkey does not operate on the page designer, however it does operate while editing inside of a widget.

If the widget was closed, or removed from the page (Using the 'X' icon on the top-right of the widget, when hovering it), you should find it in the widget grouping it was used from, appended with a number, increasing to the total number of saved widgets of that type. From the screenshot example, the multiple 'Call to Action' widgets would appear as 'Call to Action 1', 'Call to Action 2', 'Call to Action 3' and so on.

For the pre-formatted widgets removed from the page, you should find that the widget is saved with it's most recent content with these numbered titles. In order to assist you with locating this widget, I have reached out to you from the ClubRunner help desk with email address, support@clubrunner.ca.

Please note, these saved 'Pre-formatted Widgets' cannot be re-titled or deleted from the designer.

With this request in mind, I have created an additional feedback request to further manage, re-title and delete the pre-formatted widgets. The product team will review this feedback as soon as they can. Please know, we are always making changes to ClubRunner and are receptive to suggestions from users like yourself. Due to the volume of requests we receive, I cannot guarantee when or whether they will be done.

I would like to confirm from your most recent reply, you are correct, and site administrators can re-title Global or Page specific 'Custom Widgets' from the live page designer, or from the 'Custom Widget Library' in the 'Website Content - Libraries' page.

Thank you for sharing your important feedback. Please continue to share your ideas, questions and feedback with us on the ClubRunner Community!

I was playing with different widget arrangements and discovered the problems Barb describes in these paragraphs.
I agree it would "sure help" if I could put identifying names on all the widgets I use.
