What is the best way to collaborate with a 3-member team when redesigning a website before publishing? I'm looking to create a draft of the redesign and get team buy-in before publishing the changes. What is the best way to send draft edits back and forth among team members? We'd like to publish the whole new redesign at once instead of in pieces as looks to be the case in the homepage designer.

Lori, you have a good question. I am not sure if this reply will help, however, I will share my recent experience. First, you should know that I have been working with ClubRunner since 2010 with no consultation. This year I have finally put together a team of myself and three other Rotarians. It began as a training session for "editors". The primary goal was to train members to help me post news stories, update the calendar, speakers, and events widgets. With the pandemic, it took a while to get going and by the time we did I was into redesigning the home page in a radical way.

The training was all done via Zoom. Only four sessions were planned. However, we have now completed our sixth session. One of the team was very knowledgable and her vocational skills inspired her to move into learning about the "website designer". She has now designed her first "custom page" and together we have made changes to the design of the home page which is still a work in progress.

We do leave drafts, but most of the discussion and changes take place in real-time during our Zoom sessions. It is amazing how fast templates and widgets can be changed, explored, rejected, agreed upon and so forth.

I haven't worried about whether it is published "alive" or in draft form. The result has been more feedback from committee chairs, and executive members as we rebuild the site. Not all of it was positive and some of it a result of generational lag but it is no longer "my" website, more and more the site belongs to the club. It is "our" website.

Currently, we are now reconceptualizing and editing the menu something that really has not been done since 2010 when it was created.

Good luck, you are very fortunate to be able to work with a team.
