We use Download files feature when we want to email them as links in the bulletin or an email. We do not always want them to display on the website however, as they are often targeted. We have a menu item on the Home Page for 'Download Files' which links to the 'Download Files' built-in page. All files are displayed on this built-in page, no matter that we uncheck the 'Show on Home Page' box. I don't what that check box does, because it does not affect the display of the item on the built-in page. Can anyone tell me how to prevent Download files from displaying on the built-in page? Also, what does the 'Show on Home Page' box actually do?
All documents on the extract below remain displayed on the 'Download Files' built-in page.

    Hello Richard,

Thank you for posting. The "Show on Home Page" option that you've illustrated in your screenshot will show/hide a download file on the homepage download files widget - if you have dragged the Download files widget onto your homepage. More info:
    https://www.clubrunnersupport.com/article/1207-widgets-download-files

However - all download files, regardless of the "Show on Home Page" option chosen will show up on the built-in page of your website called "Download Files" that is separate from your homepage.

Therefore I have asked our team to add another option in a download file's properties > "Show on built-in page [x]". This would allow you to remove desired download files from this built-in page. I cannot guarantee any implementation or results, but your name appears on my suggestion so you may be notified of progress.

Just a final note: all download files are 100% public, regardless of where you list them. In other words Google can index 100% of all your download files - therefore please exercise extra caution when adding any download file, and please don't include any confidential / sensitive info (e.g., member emails, addresses, phone numbers etc.) in a download file since that info will show up in a Google search, even if embedded in a document (PDF, Word doc, etc.).

If you have more questions please post again.
