To our valued customers, we have found an issue in Safari 14.0.1 on a Mac. The “Choose File” button no longer works - users can no longer upload individual files using the Safari browser into any area of ClubRunner.

Users can still ‘drag and drop’ an image into a story; or they can upload multiple files at a time into the Documents section. However any section where the the single “Choose File” button is required > this button does not work in Safari 14.0.1 on a Mac.

This is an issue on Apple’s end and they are investigating. We will continue to monitor this issue.

In the meantime if you are a Mac user and need to upload single files into ClubRunner please use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge for Mac.

    Download Chrome for Mac:

    Download Firefox for Mac:

    Download MS Edge for Mac:

Just to provide an update to our valued Mac users - the "Choose file" issue still persists using a Mac device and Safari version 14.

It does appear that this issue might be resolved in the next software system update Apple regularly releases. There is a reported workaround - you can 'drag' any file directly on top of the 'Choose file' button:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252063851

Please note our team has tried this ourselves on our office Mac computers - this workaround will not work in all areas of ClubRunner, but may work in some areas. We hope that there will be a resolution to this issue soon.

We'll continue to monitor this situation.

As of this writing, even with a recent Apple software update, this 'upload single file' issue still persists. Our team has verified that in the recent version of Apple Safari - version 14.0.2 - any instance of a 'single file upload' button still does not work correctly. Alternate Mac browsers like Chrome or Firefox will still need to be used to upload single files.

    A recent Apple conversation thread:

We hope Apple will fix this issue in a future update, our team will continue to monitor this issue.

We also want to wish a happy new year to all our users!

Thanks for this information - I thought it had to do with all the add-on programs I use on my Mac. As stated I had to go to the Edge browser to do the upload. As of Feb 5 "Choose File" still does not work and dragging a file over the button also did not work.

Now if only there was an obvious way to work on a webpage redesign without messing around with the published version. I tried changing the format to a 2-column mode to see how it looked and found the some active widgets were removed and unused ones substituted - then when I tried to go back to the old format I had a lot of trouble ... If the "New Website (Beta)" actually allowed one to work on a redesign then it might actually be a useful button.

    Hello Gordon,

Thank you for posting, you are correct - as of this writing the 'Choose file' issue still exists using Safari 14.0 or higher on a Mac. As well as MS Edge on a Mac computer, you can alternatively use Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers instead of Safari for the time being. All these browser options are free downloads. We have tested all three alternate browsers, the "Choose File" button works in all three. We're continuing to monitor this issue, and we hope that Apple will release an update to address this soon.

As for working for on a website redesign - I will be emailing you separately today so we can go over your options. There are options for working on a website redesign, but just so this thread doesn't turn into a separate discussion, I will be contacting you privately over email so we can discuss what options would work best for you.

    To our valued customers,

Our team can confirm that with Apple's most recent Safari browser update - Safari version 14.0.3 - that the "Choose File" button works normally again.

If you're uncertain how to, please click here to update your Apple Safari browser to the latest version.

Please contact our Support team if you have further questions or issues.
