    Hi,

Is there anyway to download an archive, backup, extract, etc of our website?

There seem to be very limited undo options within Clubrunner so before making significant changes, or unintended ones, good practice would be to have a snapshot or backup of some sort.

I haven't managed to find this in the documentation.

    Thanks,
    djd

    Hello David,

    Thank you for posting!

You can download the all of club’s ‘Documents’ uploaded to the ‘Private Documents’ list in the Member Area, using the ‘Download Documents’ section from this article:

    https://www.clubrunnersupport.com/kb/articles/how-do-i-manage-club-documents#download

To download the club’s home page, newsletters, site pages, and website stories, please open the home page, newsletter, site page, or website story from the club’s public website on your preferred browser, then use the steps in these articles, depending on the browser, to download an .html file of the newsletter, site page, or website story:

How to save a page using Google Chrome

How to save a page using Microsoft Edge

How to save a page using Firefox

How to save a page using Safari

For the club’s images uploaded to the ‘Image Library’, you can download the images by right-clicking the image from the club's 'Image Library', and click the 'Download' option to download a copy of the image to your device. This article should help with opening the 'Image Library' in the Member Area to download the images:

    https://www.clubrunnersupport.com/kb/articles/what-is-the-image-library

Documents, images and these .html files can be opened easily on any device with a browser, and the saved files can be moved to portable hard drive to back-up the website content in more than one place.

    I hope this helps!

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the quick response Omar but manually saving and downloading individual files or pages is not what I’m asking. Feels like a hacky and not scalable approach, no?

Without any Undo or Versioning options, playing with the live site designer is a bit risky. Or am I missing something?

If this is just the way it is, please consider this a feature request for site backup or snapshot functionality.

    Hello David,

Thank you for following up with us!

Yes, this approach to saving the club's website pages would be manual, to save the public website pages one-by-one, and would not be very scalable.

The 'Documents' uploaded to ClubRunner can be exported all at once, using the steps in this article:
    https://www.clubrunnersupport.com/kb/articles/how-do-i-manage-club-documents#download

One free tool for Mac or PC outside of ClubRunner other customers' have used to download and back up their public website, is this 'HTTrack.com' website/tool:

    https://www.httrack.com/

This tool allows the user to download a structured version of the website, using folders to organize the different .html files for the public website pages.

Please note, ClubRunner is not able to provide instruction on using this third-party tool, and is not affiliated with, or connected to the HTTrack.com website, or company.

I can also confirm we have received prior feedback for a method to download multiple website pages at a time, as well as 'Version History' for the custom pages and home page. I have worked to include your club's request for these features in the feedback report to our Product team. Please note on the Support team, I would not be able to confirm a date for when these features would be available.

Thank you for sharing this feature request and feedback with me, so I can ensure it is relayed from the club to our Product team.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
