I am trying the Volunteer Sign up feature for the first time. I see that you can solicit member volunteers by creating an outreach email. Nearly all of our member communication is through our weekly bulletin where we announce our events.

Is it possible to solicit volunteers through the Club Bulletin ?

    Hello Mark,

Thank you for posting, and I do apologize for this delayed reply post.

Yes, you can include the Volunteer Signup List links in a bulletin email, so members can click the links, login to the club's Member Area, and signup for the Volunteer Signup list.

To include a link in the bulletin to the signup list, drag-and-drop any 'Preformatted Widget' with a textbox, or 'Custom Widget' (Global, or Bulletin Specific), into the left-side live designer for the bulletin, from the right-side 'Content' tab of the Bulletin Live Designer.

For a 12 minute video walkthrough on using the Bulletin Live Designer, and 'Content' tab to add widgets to the bulletins, please watch or skim this video on our Knowledgebase, clubrunnersupport.com:

    https://www.clubrunnersupport.com/kb/articles/video-new-bulletin-beta-essential-walkthrough

After dragging and dropping the 'Preformatted Widget' or 'Custom Widget' into the bulletin, hover-over the widget on the left-side live designer and click the 'Pencil' icon to add text and images to the widget.

From the widgets' textbox, enter the text, or image you would like to link to the volunteer signup list, for example 'Click here to volunteer for our club BBQ on Wednesday.'

You can add images into website and bulletin widgets, as well as emails, with the steps in this article:

    https://www.clubrunnersupport.com/kb/articles/how-do-i-add-an-image

Once the text or image is entered, highlight the text, or click the image once to highlight it, then use the steps in this article to add a link to the highlighted portion of text or image:

    https://www.clubrunnersupport.com/kb/articles/how-do-i-add-a-link

In 'Step 4' from the add a link article, select the 'Link Type' - 'Sign Up', then from the second 'Sign Up Lists' drop-down, select the volunteer signup list to link to the highlighted text, or image. Click the green 'Ok' button in the 'Add Link' dialog, to set the link to the image or text.

Once the bulletin is emailed, any member will be able to click the linked image, and or text, login to the club's Member Area, to open the signup list in the club's Member Area.

If the club signs up for the Enhanced Volunteers Module, signup lists can be set to 'Public' so any visitor or member does not have to login to signup to the club's Volunteer Signup List, and would simply click the link from the bulletin or email, then sign up on the public website.

Learn more about the differences between the Basic and Enhanced versions of the Volunteers Module, from this article on our Knowledgebase:

    I hope this helps!
