I am getting the following error message when trying to open Event Planner with Microsoft Edge. Current version CR no problem and no issue with Safari. Maybe its just me.

    Hello Jim,

Checking in this morning, I am not able to trigger this same error message on my end. Could you please check again and let us know if this same issue is occurring? If it is, could you please let me know which link you click on that took you to the error message?

For example was it from the Events Home dashboard, or the Site Administrators dashboard.

    Thanks!

    Hello Zach

The error message appears on Event Planner, Speakers, Event Types and My Event Runner screens irrespective of whatever Link I use, be it the Home Admin or Executive or the menu Links. The new Cloud Events appears to work fine. This has to be something unique to my version of Edge however I just updated it to the latest version but still the same error message. But if I have it then some other user will probably encounter it also.

    Hello Jim,

Thanks for following up with the confirmation, could you also let me know which user you are using on the sandbox so I can dig a bit deeper?

    Hi Jim,

    Thank you for your patience.

I believe that this issue is happening to you, but as of today our team has not been able to re-create the issue. I am taking the following steps, and have not run into the issue:

    1. Navigate to nova.clubrunner.co
    2. I click the Member Login link
    3. I provide my credentials for Cleo, and login
    4. I am now on the Welcome page, and if I click the Event Planner link here from Events and Volunteering, I arrive on the list of events page.
    5. I can also open the Events tab from the menu, and use the Event Planner Link here.
    6. Lastly, I can go to the Events Home, from the events menu area, and also use the event planner link.

Could you try logging out, and back in, if the issue is still persisting on your end, could you give me the list of steps you are taking up until you receive the error message?

    Did as you say
    1. Click on the Members Login Link
    2. Provide my credentials for Cleo, and login
    3. On the Welcome page and then click on Event Panner
    4. Get the error

I can try reinstalling Microsoft Edge if you want. Frankly I am not too concerned as I will be using Safari to maintain CR but other users probably will.

    Hello Jim,

Thank you for sharing those steps.

So far, I have been unable to replicate the issue you're running into despite my best efforts. I know that this specific error indicates that crsadmin.com did not believe you had an active session at all, which should not be the case since you are coming logged in from the Members Area.

Lets see if its occurring any other ways. Could you try another path for me? Instead of trying to go to the Event Planner, could you try to navigate to Download Member Data, and see if the same issue occurs? Same thing for the following links: Event Types, Speakers, and MyEventRunner? The only other thing I can think of right now is that there is some browser configuration, or plugin, that might be blocking either cookies or other network requests preventing the session from carrying over.

For Edge, could you try a guest session? That will be a lot like inprivate, and disable any/all addons and be a brand new browser with no past details. I'd like to know if the same issue occurs here as well, if you're willing to test.

    Thanks!

Zach you were spot on. Running an Edge guest session (In private window) solved the issue. I did get the same message on the other menu options you suggested using my regular Edge session. So I guess just file this away as a potential issue users could encounter using Microsoft Edge.

    Hi Jim,

    Thank you for following up.

Since the Guest session was without an issue, I suspect that either a setting in your normal profile or a plugin is at play and causing issues. If you'd like to continue troubleshooting this further the next step would be to try disabling your browser plugins one by one, until the issue either goes away or you don't have any plugins left to disable. This article should help with how you can enable/disable addons: Add, turn off, or remove extensions in Microsoft Edge - Microsoft Support

An additional area to check would be your privacy/security settings in Edge. One setting I know that might cause issues is the tracking protection being set to Strict, it even mentions that this setting can break website interactions. You can check this under your settings by looking at the Privacy Search and Services block. If it is set to strict you might want to consider turning it down to balanced.

Please let us know how it goes!

    Hi Zach,
Well the plot thickens on this one. Now I get the same message running Edge In Private Window mode. The only extensions I had were Norton Password Manager and one other. Turning these off made no difference. Regarding security I have that already set to Balanced. I have updated Edge to for the latest update. So I am at a loss. However if other Edge users are not having the same problems it has to be local issue with my laptop.
