Hello and thank you sharing the beta. Wil continue to look it over.

Is there an ability to send email to one member and copy others? For example, I send a welcome to new members which includes a variety of information which is autofilled, including CR login credentials. Under the current system I send to the new member and tell CR to send to President, Membership Chair and Sponsor, becaise there is no cc provision. Obviouly each recepient also gets a welcome new member email. My partial work around is the put in a fixed inside address. Cludgy but better than nothing.

Is there any capability in Nova to send such a message to the new member and have the copy show as a copy of what was sent to the new member (in other words a true cc)?

    Hello Michael,

This is a great question and it probably makes a bit of sense to talk about how we send emails. In general each mail heading out of ClubRunner is processed as a batch, and each user gets the email delivered directly to them, and is put together individually with their own name and other details merged in. This is the biggest reason why you cannot simply click reply/reply all, and communicate with the others who received the email, your user is actually the only person on that email.

Given this is the way our mailing system works, supporting CC’s at odds slightly with how the system processes and sends emails.

Getting to the core of the issue, I understand you want others to be CC’ed on these emails, what is the true goal of CCing the administrative staff into the new member welcome? Is it so that they’re aware that there is a new user on the account? From a system point of view, I think it would be better if we allow the club to setup and configure an outgoing notice that is sent to a user or list of users, when new members are added. Or perhaps, being able to note at the top of the message that they have been copied on this broadcast would be useful. We would love to work on a solution here as this is a fairly common request we’ve heard.

In the instance I cited, the primary goal is to notify others that a new member has now been accepted and added to Club Runner. This triggers them to reach out to the new member, recognize them at a few meetings, arrange a formal introduction to the club and closes the circle with the sponsor and others directly involved in bringing that member on board. Copying them on the Welcome New Member is just a simple way to get everyone on the same page. Perhaps there is another way to accomplish this. For now now am using my personal email to do so. Many thanks for your reply and apologies for the delay in my response.
