Communication module: username field and geographical filtering

    Hello everyone,

    I'm excited about the enhancements in the new Communication module, especially the increased number of merge fields available—though it might be a bit too many for now, I anticipate some refinement before the official release.

    However, I have not been able to locate the username field in the 'persons' list. That would be precious for sending password reset instructions.

    I 'd also like to highlight a specific feature request for the district version: geographical filtering for recipients.
    Given the geographic distribution of our district, which includes several islands and a (very) small portion of continental Africa, it's crucial for our district officers, each managing an island or country, to communicate easily with their clubs.
    Currently, my workaround involves naming the AG areas by country, using this in the filter field, and manually selecting all filtered clubs. While this method works, it is tedious and prone to errors.
    If direct geographical filtering is not feasible, the ability to smart filter by AG would be perfectly acceptable and probably useful to everyone.

    These enhancements would greatly aid our communication efforts. Looking forward to any insights or updates you might have!

    Hello Frederic,

    Nice to see you participating on the community and looking forward to your feedback. Lets jump into your questions and see what I can do to shed some light on things.

    It should be possible to send the users’ username through mail merge in Nova, though that field may not be exposed right now. I want to confirm that the new Universal Login does confirm a users login name when going through the password recovery at the first stage. The email they receive should have it. I know we’re looking to add some of these updates to the local account logins, now that they’re part of the universal login as well.

    This is an interesting issue and I appreciate you sharing the troubles you are running into now. I know we have the ability to do some distance based searching, like finding all of the clubs or members within 25KM of a specific location, based on the address details we have.

    I also believe, though our new Smart List features, you could build email groups by locations as well. Could you share a specific example of a list you’d want to make at the district today? That would let me dig a bit deeper with the team and see what options we have.
