I wanted to ask this question to see if I might be missing something. I am putting together a new bulletin template for our club. I am inserting the essentials: story widget. This widget appears to be stagnant. In other words, I would expect this type of widget to be configurable to show "latest" stories similar to how they are displayed on the home page widget.

Again, I am still learning ClubRunner and this might be due to user error. My end goal is to make a standard bulletin that is easy to publish. Every time we create a new bulletin, it automatically uses the original stories from the template.

If anyone has found a good solution to make this easier, I would appreciate it. This has probably been noted before, but having an option on a story to "show on bulletin" instead of selecting a specific bulletin for display would be great.

    Hi David,

Great questions, let me do my best to address each.

Each Bulletin's stories widget can have its own list of stories assigned to it. You can choose any story that is already available in the stories library. When the bulletin is active, and others are creating stories, there are options to assign the story to any of the active (And not yet sent) Bulletins that are available on the account.

Based on your comments, I believe you were hoping to see the latest stories from the website automatically inserted into the Bulletin?

It might be easier to remove the stories in the template you have setup, so that each time you create the new Bulletin it is blank. From there you can click into the stories widget and choose the add option, this will allow you to select any stories from the library. The stories will load by default from newest to oldest based on their dates. On this screen you will check each of the stories you want, click done, and now you've got the latest bulletin populated and ready to go with your story content.

You can also create new stories from the widget as well, if the content is not already in the library.

Each Bulletin can have its own set of stories, which is why the option is not quite as straight forward as "Show on Bulletin". You might have one list of stories in Bulletin A for a specific group, and a completely different list of stories in Bulletin B for your other group. While this does bring more options for customers to build multiple bulletins, per your observation, it also increased the complexity on some levels.

I look forward to hearing more feedback on how we can improve the Bulletin Designer.
