    Hello all,

I am writing to ask if there could be a capability to easily add photos to a featured carousel from either email or the app. How can we better manage photos alongside using CKFinder?

    Has this been considered before?

    Hi Patrick,

Great question, we do from time to time hear feedback on people wanting to more easily add photos into ClubRunner in some capacity. Be it through the mobile app, emails sent to a specific inbox, etc. I don't believe we've had this specific question, but I am adding it to the feedback about ClubRunner and Nova specifically.

We do see the mobile app as the day to day tool most members are using, and based on feedback we are working to improve and add new features here. Being able to have members share photos more easily with the club would help.

Would love to know more about how your club is managing these sorts of items now, and what troubles are you running into?

    Hey Zach,

Thanks for the reply, we generally take photos on our own devices and upload them to a drive system like Dropbox. Then they would need to be uploaded manually from that shared drive.

Our friction is having a web admin's time to configure a carousel after every event on a desktop device. Especially if they are unable to attend. If we enable more members to be able to select recent photos to highlight, that will allow a self-service option to feature material. Either a form on the app or an event highlight feature for members to easily use on personal devices on the go.

Let me know if you'd like to speak over a virtual meeting in detail. Hope this helps,

Interesting idea Patrick! But Zach you know what any sort of capability like that, where members can auto-upload photos to the website, I know we would want to be able to have some control over that, maybe only by users with specific rights? We have had an issue in the past with a copyrighted photo that was screen-grabbed from a browser and posted on our website...we got called on it with the threat of large $$ fines by a company hired by the news organization that had the copyright, a company that does website scraping to look for such violations. Not just our club either, happened to at least one other club that I'm aware of. I think we would want to be able to either have the photo uploaded to a website admin first or at least the website admin notified somehow that something had been uploaded, so that it could be quickly reviewed and removed if it appears to be one that would be in violation of a copyright. Does that make sense at all??

    Hi Dianne,

That is a great point, and something we would be taking under consideration when making these tools available for members. Making it easier for members to share photos they've taken and can share is our primary goal, as we know getting these images from members to the club is the hard part.
