The Club Directory on district websites is publicly viewable but does not presently show a contact phone number for each club. Yes, clubs could do that on their own site - but many don't !!!

Club contact phone number could easily be added to the district site Club Directory, e.g. by adding a "Club Phone number same as Secretary's preferred phone number?" tickbox, to the Contact Info panel on the Club Information pages. The Secretar'y name would not be disclosed publicly.

Club contact phone number could then also appear on the Map of Clubs in District page, when a club is selected.

Is there any support for this suggestion from other districts?

You are right. At the moment there is no phone number for the clubs on this page:

Thank you for the suggestion. I think we should add the Club's phone number too. I have passed this suggestion over to our Product team to review. When/if we do this change, we will post here to let you know.

I have also told them we should include the Club's phone number on the map page too:

ClubRunner does ask Clubs for their phone number on the Club Information page. We could use this number on the Club Directory page. We could make an check box option to let the Clubs show their phone number to the public. If the club does not want to show their number to the public, they can un-check this box. Does this sound good?

As for the suggestion to have a checkbox to have the current Club's Secretary's preferred phone number to be set as the Club's phone number on the Club information page, I am not sure if the Secretary would like this option or if the next year's Secretary would set their preferred phone number correctly in ClubRunner. If any one else as has an opinion about this, please respond to this thread.

I have not heard any of these suggestions before.

To help Clubs learn how to update their phone number on the Club Information page, please share the following link with them:

I think it is a great idea to allow Club’s to include their phone number on the Club Directory and Club map on the District website.

The option to use the Secretary’s preferred phone number as the Club phone number is a neat idea but the Secretary may not want to have their preferred phone number available on the District website. This would mean the checkbox would need to be closely maintained each time there is a new Secretary for the Club. Instead, I think it would be beneficial to have a checkbox that will allow to Club to either display or hide the Club phone number on the District Club Directory and Club map.

I would be interested in additional opinions on this. Does anyone else have any other opinions?

There hasn't been a hue and cry for a phone number to be published, from either the district or club site. While my club is large enough to have a phone that we pass from Secretary to Secretary. We do not publish the number, because it can't be forwarded to the right person and responded to in writing. In addition, a phone call requires an almost immediate response which is not really feasible in a lot of clubs. And as the district administrator, I do not relish having to remind clubs to check or un-check the box every year. It is hard enough getting them to put in their officers yearly.
