Do you use the "Story List Page"?

    When you create a story for your club website, ClubRunner provides two places to display it:
    • Display on Home Page Stories Widget
    • Display on Story List Page.
    The Home Page Stories Widget is marked as the default. You have to check the Story List Page if you want it there.

    In my opinion, checking the Story List Page is a very valuable tool to enhance the quality of your site. It permits you to create a menu item I call Stories Archive.

    When a visitor clicks on the Stories Archive a list with the stories icon feature photo and the introductory sentence appears with the option to Read More. Even more important is the ability to do a search for a topic. For example, the Dryden site has many stories on "student exchange".

    The Story List default order is most recent to oldest titled "Latest". There is the option of putting the list in the "Most Popular" order. This, however, gives an advantage to articles which have been there the longest. The Dryden site has 495 articles, two of the top ten go back to 2010, the year the site was created.

    I would like to see options for viewing the "Most Popular" for the past six months, past year and all-time.

    Yes I do everytime - as well as the Stories Archive or blog for readers, for the administrator or other back end user it creates an index of all stories published

    I agree with you, Les. It is like a blog. Before I was introduced to ClubRunner, Version One I blogged on a 2005 version of a WordPress blog. I loved the indexing system. When ClubRunner Version Two was released I created a pull-down menu with links to all the articles. It was a lot of work so I thank the ClubRunner staff for making it easy to provide.
