Putting Tags on Story Posts

    Yesterday I had all kinds of difficulty adding tags to my lastest Story. The Story is titled McRotary Farm Grows in Ignace You will notice that there are four tags attached to it. However, I wanted to put in Mary Berglund Health Centre. I typed it in and when I pressed return about 20 tags most of which not relevant appeared. I tried a number of different strategies all slow. It happened repeatedly. Eventually, I gave up. I have had it happen at other times but never so annoyingly. Why is it happening and how can I prevent it from occurring?

    I have a second issue with tags. When I was analyzing Statcounter for the article on Website Audience I learned that Statcounter can't find them. That may be a problem at the Statcounter end but has this been brought to your attention and is there something else I or ClubRunner has to do to make it so it can read them.

    I looked in the story "McRotary Farm Grows in Ignace" and saw you did not have a tag for "Mary Berglund Community Health Centre" added yet. I clicked in the "Tag" area and typed "Mary" and "Mary Berglund Community Health Centre" displayed to be selected. I selected it and the tag was added. I removed the tag, so you could test it again. If you just click in the tag area, it displays all tags, but if you start typing in a tag, it will search for that tag, so it can be selected.

    I have had Statcounter installed since we set up the site in 2010. I just used the free version. About four months ago I upgraded to more data at a modest fee. I really like their new format. It is easy to navigate. I do not want to lose it because it gives me a continuous count from the beginning. There were a couple of periods where it wasn't working so it is not 100% accurate.

    I also have Google Analytics already active on the Dryden Site. However, I have become disenchanted with GA. I started using it 2005 when it was nice and simple. I also have JetPack which I think is a simplified version of GA on my WordPress blog. I am now having two problems with GA. First I find it difficult to log in to GA or even find it. But I will try again. Then when I get there finding the data I want is horrendous. It seems all they are interested in is selling ads and analysing the data related to monetarizing sites. Am I wrong or are others discovering the same problem? It is like I have to learn their system all over again, as a result, I rarely look at it.

    I really should do an analysis of the similarities and differences between the two counters. Your wisdom in this regard would be most welcome.

    I understand why you would like to keep Statcounter. Having the historic data from 2010 is nice.

    On our end we do not know much about Statcounter, I recommend reaching out to them to see if they can assist.

    Yesterday, I got into Google Analytics for the Club Website as my new thread would attest. I did it using a different URL and I got right to the data I want. I will study it more carefully in the future. It has been, in the past, the best counter. I have bookmarked the URL so I can retrieve it quickly in the future. It is thanks to being a member of this ClubRunnerCommunity that has motivated me to delve into this problem. So I just want to express my gratitude for setting it up and inviting me to participate at RICO in Toronto.
