Increasingly, I find I am looking for the ability to edit the Source Code. Originally, I thought there was a means of doing so. Is it possible?

An example is the possibility of deleting a button in the image and similar widgets

Les, you should be able to edit the source code of custom page specific, global, bulletin specific, and bulletin global widgets by using the box with the outward pointing arrow:
    2018-03-19_9-05-57.jpg

Many of the pre-formatted widgets do not have access to source mode at this time. You should still be able to do things like disabling the buttons in those or removing images. However if the widget has a focused image area you would want to use a different widget if its just that one part you don't want.

Can you please let me know the specifics?

Yes, its mainly the pre-formatted widgets I was referring to - see http://rotaryclubcaloundra.com.au/page/test-page for examples/comments. Could not see any controls for disabling buttons; images can be removed but the placeholder stays

In the Bulletin widgets, it may be a good idea to incorporate a button/s into some of the other pre-formatted widgets like the Triple Image above Text (but with the ability to not have the button)

For Preformatted widgets, you should be able to remove an image, and its placeholder should disapear (on the published page, or the preview page). Do note that any changes to widgets in the live designer do require the page to be published before they go live. Now for the individual images once they're placed, you are correct we do not have any specific controls in place at this time. The idea is that they should fill the space they have designated. I will make sure the product team seems your feedback regarding this. Buttons should also be able to disabled but it is not obvious/straight forward. You can simply empty the URL and TEXT and publish the page and the button should disappear on the live site.

I will make sure the Product team see this as well!

Please do let us know if there is anything else.

Les, if you do not want a button displayed in the preformatted widget, please erase the name of the button. You can do this by hovering over top of the button, clicking on the gear icon, then erasing the title. When a button does not have a title, it automatically hides when on preview screen.

Thanks - I do note that some of the pre-formatted widgets have two versions - one with, and one without the button. Given what you say, perhaps there only needs to be one version?

Correct. One version of a pre-formatted widget would work with buttons. We just need a way how to tell user to erase the the title of the button. Maybe we can add some help text for it.
