    All,
When I tried to add a Microsoft Word Template file with a file extension of .dotx to the private documents in ClubRunner, I received the following error
    upload_2025-8-28_19-56-46.png
It seems that Microsoft Word Template file with a file extension of .dotx are not allowed.
In the ClubRunner Support article titled "How do I manage club documents?"
    upload_2025-8-28_20-4-10.png
at: https://www.clubrunnersupport.com/kb/articles/how-do-i-manage-club-documents, I see the following:
    upload_2025-8-28_20-5-15.png

It seems that the two lists of allowed file extensions are different, e.g.:
    • .msg is in the first list, but not the second list.
    • .pub is not in the first list, but in the second list.
    My questions are:
    1. What is the definitive list of allowed file types to be uploaded to private document?
    2. Is it possible to make a change so that the lists match?
    3. Is it possible to add the file extension .dotx as an allowed file extension (if this is easy)?

    Hi Brendan,

Here are the allowed file formats for uploading within the Documents section:
    • Documents: png, gif, bmp, jpg, jpeg, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, pdf, txt, rtf, ppt, pptx, msg, ai, eps, psd, mp3, pdf, zip, rar
    • Images: bmp, gif, jpg, jpeg, png, tif, tiff, heic

Uploading any files in a zip file would be one way around any specific limitations, so long as it's under 30MB.

I am inquiring if we could easily add dotx files to the accepted list. In the meantime I'd suggest uploading those in zip files as mentioned above.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

    Thanks!

    Ryan,
Thank you very much for your prompt response.
Is it possible to update the ClubRunner Support article titled "How do I manage club documents?" so that it correctly shows the allowed file formats for uploading within the Documents section of ClubRunner?
Thank you very much for your help.

    Ryan,
    Thank you for your assistance.
I see you have updated the information below under "Adding a Document", step 5:

You may also need to update the information under "Requirements" as shown below:

    Ryan,
I was wondering if there has been any update on whether Microsoft Word template files (i.e. .dotx) could easily be added to the accepted list of file extensions.

    Thanks,
    Brendan Wilkinson

    Hi Brendan,

I actually just replied to the email noting that the following new file extensions are allowed to be uploaded now:
    • dotx
    • xltx
    • potx

Please let us know if there is anything further we can assist with.

    Thanks!
