Hi ClubRunner folks - I know we're still in Beta but wondering if the committees module will be further updated ie. to provide "Standing Committees" with the same email options (eg. Stats, Copy) that are available to "Yearly Committees" and in the "Communications" module for emails. Maybe there's a reason that Standing Committees are treated differently?

Nova is looking great already - happy to now be on the Beta version, thanks!

    Hi Dianne,

We have upgraded most committees to use the new email module, but I suspect we missed something with standing committees or at least some of them. I am working with the team to investigate and work towards a fix for this matter.

Once a committee is flagged for the new emails, they get all of the benefits that you expect. I will follow up as soon as I have more information to share.

Hey Zach, great news - the Enhanced Committees module appears to have been updated now in NOVA so that Standing Committee emails also have the additional options (eg. Stats, Copy, etc) - that's amazing, now I can use that module for private committee communications again, thanks!

Uh oh Zach, another little glitch here - when I try to send emails from a Standing Committee (in the Enhanced Committee module) I get this "you don't have access, session time-out" message. The email does go through but I have to back out a couple of times to get back to the Committee screen. This is using Chrome, I will also try in MS Edge, see if it happens there as well.

Interestingly Zach, there doesn't seem to be a problem when I'm running NOVA on the MS Edge browser. I just copied my last email (that was giving me time-out messages) and sent a test email to myself no problem. While I generally prefer Chrome I am going to just use Edge for the next little while and see if there's anything else glitchy there. I'll keep you updated....

    Hi Dianne,

I wonder if you got hit with some bad timing, we did a service restart that may have impacted your access to the committees area, which is why the URL in your screenshot confirms that your session had expired. This was not a normal session expiry, but a result of the service restart, which we do not perform outside of troubleshooting or maintenance windows.

I think you should be okay to go back to Chrome, but let us know how it goes!

Zach, just timed out again (8:27am, May 23rd) when trying to send a Standing Committee email to 6 Directors, running in Chrome. The emails seem to be received fine (I was one of the recipients) but interestingly it seems to close the application as well when the time-out happens.

    Hi Dianne,

Can you confirm the steps you are taking up until the timeout occurs? Does it happen with only some of your committees, or all of them?

Lastly, may I try testing an email to this committee from your account?

    Thanks!

Hi Zach, thanks for the follow up and apologies for the late reply, crazy time of year for a Secretary! FYI I have just tested again (Windows 10 environment) in both Chrome and MS Edge browsers - emails sent from within a "Standing Committee" (both the "Board of Directors" one and the "Charitable Foundation" one) continue to cause the timeout error; emails sent from within the "Yearly Committee" are fine. Timeouts when running under either browser. In both cases however emails are received successfully, it is just the app itself that times out and closes. Please feel free to do whatever testing you need and let me know if you need anything else from my end.

Zach, as a further follow-up to this issue: it continues to be a problem in either Chrome or MS Edge browsers (ie when trying to send an email to a Standing Committee only - not a Yearly Committee - I get completely booted out of NOVA with an "access denied - timeout" message.

Interestingly though - I just wanted to preview an email before I sent it so I created the email within the Board of Directors Standing Committee portal and did a "Send to Myself" and it worked fine, with no timeout hiccups! So it seems it is just when I select "Recipients" and try to send an email that the problem arises. Interesting eh? Maybe this further isolation of the issue might help pinpoint the cause??

Hope everyone at ClubRunner has a wonderful long Labour Day weekend!
