Hi, I hope you’re doing well!

I have a quick question about managing file permissions in ClubRunner. Is there a way to use security groups to control access to certain folders? For example, I’d like to set up some folders so only club officers can access them, without having to have all folders be "private" or "public".

If this is possible, could you point me in the right direction to get started? If not, is there another way to handle permissions more easily for specific groups of users?

    Thanks for your help!

John, we do that in our club by way of the "Committees" module (we currently subscribe to the "Enhanced Committees" module in the current CR version, maybe that's why we have that capability) eg. we have a Board of Directors committee that is private, with the Directors identified and documents/emails specific to them stored in that module. Does that help?

As Dianne notes, the enhanced committees module, which is a standard part of Nova, does support this concept. But the general document storage area does not at this time. As a note, users with correct increased access on the account can still access the committees and download their documents. But it does prevent normal members from being able to download private committee files.

This is something something we're keeping a close eye on and looking to improve in the future.

I didn't understand the comment ' about Enhanced Committee module being part of Nova' just to be clear you are saying the enhanced features will be part of the basic support level? This is true of the Enhanced Events module too?

    Hi Mark,

As part of Nova, all of our older enhanced modules, are just part the package. All customers on Nova have access to the enhanced committees module and volunteers pro.

Any customers who are already subscribed will receive credits for any remaining time they've paid for after they transition. Any customers who were not already subscribed, will receive them as part of their upgrade to Nova.
