I am new to ClubRunner Home Page Design. I decided to change the story page widget so that it would look better. The Story Page, with all our past and present stories, has disappeared. I am unable to add a new widget to replace the stories as the widget(s) will not drag and drop. The Live Home Page has not changed and contains all our stories as I did not click publish, however, it will not allow me to edit the Story Page widget as it is also frozen. I am able to edit all other widgets. Any advice?

    Hi Letitia,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Looking at the club's homepage in the designer, I can see that the home page stories widget was not included in it. I've re-added it to the page for you by dragging and dropping it from the Essentials group into the center column.

If you go into the designer now, you should be able to see and work with the widget.

Looking at the widget itself, it may not have been displaying in the editor on the homepage as it was configured to show 75 stories. This is a very large volume of data and sometimes cannot be displayed when in the live designer. Our default story list is 5 now, and I've updated the stories widget to that. You will see a much shorter homepage because of this, and should result in better performance for desktop and mobile devices, and SEO.

You can adjust this setting higher if you wish, but I would not advise showing any more than 10~ stories on the homepage. Mobile visitors must get through your entire center column, before they can see the left or right columns on the mobile version of the website. Before they would have needed to scroll through all 75 stories to see your Upcoming Events.

    I hope this helps!
