How to add to a custom list.

    We used to have a custom email group for potential members. It wasn't used for years and was way out of date. I eliminated everyone. Now, I want to create a new Potential Members List. It shows up in my custom list, but I can't figure out how to add people to it.

    Hi Christine,

    Thanks for your post. And thank you for your patience while we got back to you.

    With the Custom Distribution lists, only User accounts can be added I.e Active, Honorary and Other users. That is a limitation of the Custom Distribution lists. Instead, we have a couple of options here which may work for you in place of the Custom Distribution list, which I'll share below.

    1. Add the individual as a contact and assign them to a Contact Group.
    2. Add them to the Membership Success Module, so that they're listed as a prospect.
    3. If you're really set on using Custom Distribution lists, we can get the individuals added as Other Users, and then they can be added to the Distribution List. But keep in mind anyone who is an "Other User" can also login and access the club site like other Active Users of the club.

    So in this case, I would personally suggest using the "Contact Groups" feature moving forward. It's effectively the same as the Custom Distribution list, but it doesn't have the same restriction in terms of adding members to it like the Custom Distribution list does.
