Hi. I've been looking at the new Member and Club Insights Activity Reports and while useful, I think a additional summary report or would be very helpful.

In addition of the individual member report you have I envision a report that has the member name and then the total participation score by year for say the last number of years. (5 would be a good number).. Something like.

    Total Participation score
    Member name 2011-12 2012-13 2013 -14 2014-15 2015-16
    Joe Rotarian 127 134 145 130 120
    Jane Rotarian - 120 150 190 230
    ...

That way you could quickly see the trend for each the members and act accordingly. The scores could perhaps be "live" and click thru to that individual year so you could see how they were derived but that would be nice to have.. The start and end dates for the report could be selectible.

Something similar for the total club activity would be useful as well. It would show the trend for the club over time. The alternative is to run each year and then create a chart or table outside the system. This would be additional work when the information is already available.

The club summary report by year (for all clubs) would be useful at the district level as well. That would be helpful to the DG when preparing for club visits or membership chairs trying to help clubs.

I don't know if this information is available for the edirectory builder or not, in which case I might attempt to build it myself, but I thought I'd suggest it to see if it were useful to other.

I first like to say, I like the Member Activity reporting feature but would like to comment on the "Event" section where this links to events only set up as a registered event. We have members who register for an event but may not actually attend. The way you have the points set up for this is a member will get points just for registering. While there are other events that are set up in our calendar that get no credit.

The Attendance 3.0 module allows for banked actual attendance at events yet these activities are not given a point value unless the attendance is used as a credit for a missed meeting. What I would like to propose is the ability to link the banked make up events to a club's calendar event (when it applies) and therefore tying the two entries together for better reporting on who attended the event. And as points are already given under the attendance if the make up is applied to a missed meeting, then wouldn't all other "banked" events be as deserving of points as it shows a high level of member engagement to attend other Rotary events that should earn them "participation points".

Here is my example for reference. We currently have several events in our calendar but none that have been set up as registered events, my attendance at meetings this year so far is 100% yet I have attended other Rotary events that have been banked in my profile. In the Member Activity reporting the Events section is blank for me but I would like to see these events showing up to give a points value. We have lots of members who bank up events that never get used as a missed meeting credit

Here you can see I've attended 5 other Rotary events that I have in my Bank
    upload_2017-7-19_10-5-12.png

Yet this is not giving me credit in the Member Activity report under the Events section

I hope you will consider including BANKED make ups to this participation points reporting as I truly think it will represent a truer picture of those members engaged. And perhaps do away with the members who just register for events as that is not showing the full picture of attendance.

    Thanks,
    Gina

I was thinking something very similar Gina. There needs to be a stronger connection between Events and makeups. If a person attends an event.. someone physically had to enter a makeup for it it be counted against a missed meeting. IF that happens does that mean a double credit? And I also agree that banked makeups need to be credited toward engagement. I've been looking for some way to report them since V3 of the attendance came out. The member activity report would give that ability.

Now if we could just have it so clubs had the ability to allow club members to self report makeups thru the mobile app... that would make life easier for admins.

Yes Jim, we wouldn't want double counting. As any make ups credited to a missed meeting is already assigned a point value I'm only thinking the make ups that are in a status of "Banked" would receive a point value. Currently they do not yet a member who participates in other Rotary approved activities to earn missed meeting credit should have an activity value to represent that member's engagement level.

If a member attends an event (gets activity credit) and then someone assigns them a makeup for a meeting they missed, are they not getting double counted for one activity as the two systems are not currently connected? Just a question.

They would be getting credit for both. Even if the two systems did talk to each other, I feel like a lot of clubs might have mixed feelings about this and which why they would want it dealt with.

I agree with Jim that a summary report would be very beneficial. Our club, like many I am sure, is planning on using this feature to help us monitor/measure engagement of club members and the summary report would let us quickly identify who might need some followup. Otherwise, we have to view the report for almost a 100 members, one at a time.

    Zach -
Sorry to add to an old thread, but this is an issue that has been bothering me for some time.

A solution would be to provide a button for events and volunteer activities that allows the members who signed up for these activities could automatically generate a banked Makeup. It will give the club the option of marking it as a makeup event or not, but it will greatly reduce the need for double entry (eg. manually entering makeups from the Event attendance report.).

We've had various feedback about this specific type of issue and it is something we're keeping in mind for future updates to the platform. Though I cannot comment on when or if this functionality will specifically become available in the future.

I am going to add to this old thread as I don't see developments from the posts of two years ago. Is there any thought by Clubrunner to create a member summary report for participation points? We have over 100 members in our club and it would take a long time to generate each separate member's activity report. Our club leadership would like to measure the activity our members in other areas than just attendance and participation points is a great way to do that.

    Hello Marc,

This is a great question - please click below for instructions about our:

    Club Activity Report

This report lists the overall participation points for your whole club and includes other data like attendance participation, event participation, etc.

If this doesn't fully answer your question or you have more, please post again.

    Hello Mickey,

I have seen the Club Report, but it does not break down the points by member. So, I still do know which members are the most active without creating 101 separate Member Activity reports, which can take a lot of time. Isn't there a way to list all members in one column and then the activity points in another column? Or even better, have columns created for attendance, committee participation, designations, etc. As a club leader, it would be useful to know who is active and who is not. Thanks!

    Hello Marc,

I have made this suggestion to our DEV team - create an "ALL members Participation points report" that would list all members and their participation points from last year and this year. Bonus: try to fit in the categories - attendance, committees, designations, etc.

While I cannot guarantee when or if this suggestion might be implemented, each suggestion is carefully evaluated by our team. If I receive any feedback I will let you know.

Let me know if you have further questions.
