    We’re excited to give you early access to the Sandbox environment of the club version of Nova. This phase is an essential part of ensuring the new version aligns with the needs and expectations of our users.

    What is a Sandbox?
    A Sandbox is a trial environment where multiple users can explore the new features and functionality with test data. It’s designed to help you get a feel for the user experience and provide feedback.

    Will it show my members and data?
    No, the Sandbox contains generic test data and fake members, ensuring your actual data is not involved.

    Can I make changes and edits?
    Yes, you’re encouraged to interact with the Sandbox as you normally would. However, please keep in mind that this is a shared environment:
    • Avoid adding real email addresses, as someone might accidentally send out a mass email.
    • Do not import any personal or private information.
    • The Go Back button may not function accurately

    Is this the final version of Nova?
    Not quite! This is just the beginning of our journey. We have many more modules that we're planning to enhance as part of our overall updates. We're excited about the upcoming features and refinements, and we'll be incorporating valuable feedback from our beta testers to continue improving the product.

    I would love to have the upcoming events widget show the image on the homepage. I think it's more visual to have the option to have an image. I use formats to differentiate between events and speakers. I do not like having an events and speaker calendar separate.

    I started using cloud events this year for our major event. A couple things that would be handy for us.
    1. Don’t require that a ticket be purchased. When we sell an item at an event, the ticket is not always required. Give the option to only purchase an item.
    2. I have a non-rotary member who helps me keep track of our event, but they can’t export the sales, even though I added them to the event to get emails when an order comes in. They get the confirmation email but it doesn’t contain all the order information, so I have to export all the orders and email it. Either allow the full order details to go to the non-rotary member in the confirmation email or allow the non-rotary member to access the event so they can download the details.

    Website Design - Include Forms
    1. Include a Form designer. Many clubs have been using Google Forms and then import that, but it isn’t very user friendly to do that. It would be nice to be able to create a form for a club application for membership, or even sponsorships for purchasing during our fundraising events (Including the option to add photos). Finally having the option to pay for items purchased in a form would be handy.

    I know these are wish list type items, but they are things I have struggled with and hopeful some of them can happen.

    Jenna, I'm glad to hear you're liking what you see so far!

    Finance is major part of Nova, and will be part of a future update. You can expect it to be similar in function to the current dues and billing module, with significantly more robust reporting and export options for external systems, and enhanced billing capabilities. We plan to share more details later this year.

    Thank you for the feedback about Cloud Events! The no ticket to buy an item is something we've heard from a few customers so far and that we're looking to help improve in future updates. It looks like many clubs are repurposing Cloud Events to operate more as an ecommerce function which is great, and we are exploring how to make that more intuitive.

    For the second item, in Nova it will be possible to create a user that can login, and assign them as the Event's organizer. This would give them access to manage the event itself. This will function very similarly to how it does in the Event Planner module. They would get access to the event itself, but not the entire system or general membership details, just details related to the event itself. Does that sound like it would cover your current issues?

    A Form designer is something that is on the horizon for Nova. Membership Success and a lot of newer parts of ClubRunner Nova use forms to collect and process data in the system. Being able to build, and manage forms, is something that we know users have been looking for.

    The upcoming events widget does have two views that support images, and Cloud Events are supported for both. When using the Scrollable, or Columns layout option in the widget’s settings, you will see the cover image from the Cloud event. We’ll see what we can do to continue improving on this front as well, as we are looking to simplify and consolidate the various event and speaker modules to be more unified and easier to manage. We appreciate your feedback on this!

    I started with Email. I am not sure if there is something I should read first. I like many of the new features but I am also compiling some question about how to do some things we do today and I can't find. Could be I just need to become more familiar. e.g. we use Membership Success a lot.. Other things like I can see how to drill down sending an event to an individual member or contact in event planning but I can't seem to find it in regular communication email. We used to exclude a person we wanted to surprise or sensitive topic for instance but I see there is an exclusion list so maybe that accomplishes it. My list of questions is growing but I will continue to use it and knock off things I find. I wanted to see some emails I sent, like an event invitation just to see what it looks like and make sure it does what we need but I guess receiving emails is not possible right now. Thanks for your hard work, this will take some time. If you want feedback batches in some fashion let me know. Looks good. mark

    Let me do my best to help address your items so far.

    Let us know your question and we’ll do our best to address them. I’d much rather you ask so I can give you confirmation and or collect more feedback!

    For confirmation Membership Success is not available yet for the Nova sandbox, because its being updated and is not quite ready.
    Both for Nova, and for the current ClubRunner, you need to be within an event to send an invitation to the members. The modules have their own logic for allowing an invitation email, based on the status of the event and its configuration. For example in Event Planner, invitations won’t work if registration isn’t turned on, and further we disable the non-member groups when its only available to register for members.

    But I understand you want to make it easier to send event invitations and that is something I’ve been hearing in different ways, so I appreciate the insight here!
    This is new to Nova and glad to hear we have a great use case for it off the bat!

    You can absolutely send an event invitation to any of the members of the club, once sent this will be available under their email history. You can find a history of emails a user has received out of the system in the communication tab. From here you can view the emails content and resend it.
