I have added a "Members Only" folder to the navigation menu, and I want menu items in that folder to require login. I don't see any way when I create that folder to set any property of it that would cause it to require login.

    Is that possible?

    Hi Clark,

The menu itself is not able to support links that are available only for members when they're logged in. Some content types, like custom and site pages, can require a login to view their content. You would be able to link to that page, even for the public, but only members would be able to view it normally.

You could build a members only Custom or Site page with a lot of links, listed in the menu of the website, but only members would be able to view its content after they logged in to view the page.

I have also let our product team know you were looking for this functionality.

Please let us know how it goes, and what you end up doming!

Thanks for forwarding to the product team -- I'm not yet sure what I will wind up doing, but what I currently have is far from ideal. Currently I have the Newsletters in the Members Only menu, and the problem is that if a member goes to that part of the menu without having logged in (a fairly natural thing for a user to do), they get a page that shows no bulletins, but worse, no indication that they should have logged in (see attached MembersOnly.png). So they might think there just are no bulletins there.

Of course, if they happen to have logged in before going to the MembersOnly/Newsletters link, they would see the Newsletter listed (see attached MemOnlyLoggeIn.png)

I have another problem related to that menu. Our club wants the club directory to be visible to Members Only. I have no trouble making the directory of members require login, but I cannot find a way to require login to show the club executives. I have put both the Club Directory and the Club Executives in the Members Only section of the menu, and clicking on the Member Directory does require login, but not the Club Executives. It seems (see attached Executives.png) there is no way to require login for that built-in page, Perhaps another feature to be addee --- adding the ability to modify properties of built-in pages MembersOnly.PNG MemOnlyLoggedIN.PNG Executives.png MembersOnly.PNG MemOnlyLoggedIN.PNG Executives.png

One suggestion would be to change the menu title to Pages Requiring Login. I realize your ClubRunner site is under construction, hence you have a chance to improve it and I am going to be bold enough to make some suggestions. The first is to get rid of the OLD spinning logo gif. Either update it or drop it. It is over 8 years since RI changed its logo. Did you really intend the Outhouse Park Gets a Facelift story to appear where it is? Place it in the stories widget. Also, your mission statement which includes "Service Above Self" clashes with the President 21-22 theme logo. Since this is aimed at the public be consistent put in a Service Above Self logo or a "People of Action" logo. I like the way you have inserted the three photos but make them the same size so the page does not move up and down. It is distracting. Keep working on it, you have a better than average three-column home page.

John, thanks for your comments. Actually, the Outhouse Park story I just put up today and part of the purpose was to see how it shows up, and where best to put it. I thought the Club Stories section was probably were it was meant to be. Have not got to trying out the stories widget; will get to that. We have several people working to figure out how to set up the clubrunner site, so I will direct them all to this community board -- some of 6hem did the 3-column thing and the photos.
