    Bonjour,

Our club is trying to use Google Workspace for Non Profit (GWFNP) as our Information Management tool. Why? Because it's free and gives un 2TO of storage space and all kinds of other good things to manage our club's info.

We have a Foundation and as such have a Canadian Charity number with Revenue Canada but when we present our case to GWFNOT, this is what they say:

    Hello,
Thank you for your interest in Google for Nonprofits.

Club Rotary De Montreal Fonds De Bienfaisance / Rotary Club Of Montreal Welfare Fund has successfully been validated as a nonprofit organization.

However, unfortunately, at this time it has not been possible to confirm your affiliation with the nonprofit.

If you’d like to reapply, it’s recommended to use an email address that is associated with your nonprofit organization, rather than a personal account.

To learn more about the criteria for Google for Nonprofits, please refer to the eligibility guidelines. And to learn more about our partnership with Percent, go to the Help Center
    .

Have any of you encountered this? Have you been able to resolve it?

Have any of you been able to use GWFNT? How did you do it?

I'm obviously trying to access this service free of charge...helpppppp!

    Joanne - President, RCM

    Hi Joanne,

Our team has not specifically gone through this process, so while I'll try my best to help, other clubs may be able to provide better feedback.

It sounds like they want you to contact them through an email address that is directly connected to your organization. For example, if you are contacting them at joanne@gmail.com, and they want the email to come through the foundations domain: joanne@ourrotaryfoundation.com, or joanne@ourotaryclub.com instead of a personal email.

But I would be direct with them that you're not sure what they're asking for, and for them to provide more guidance on how to proceed.

I just solved it. Google is looking for confirmation from an e-mail associated with the club, but this is not a service that ClubRunner provides.

In our case, our non-profit arm is the Rotary Club of West Hartford Service Chest, inc.

I set up a companion site to our regular westhartfordrotary.org (which is hosted by ClubRunner). The companion site, www.westhartfordrotarysc.org has send and receive e-mail capabilities. Now, when Google gets my email, it will be from rickliftigATwesthartfordrotarysc.org. You cannot do this from Clubrunner.

The companion site will have one or two pages devoted to our non-profit arm along with our IRS 990 tax returns (US) and a list of the Board. On our main page of our regular site, there is now a link to the companion site prominently positioned.

The site is hosted by Bluehost which is about $65 usd per year. Just beware, Google will automatically hook you up with Squarespace, but their cost runs about $240 usd per year.

If it makes you feel any better, this took the better part of a month to solve and multiple emails to Google and ClubRunner. But it looks like it will be well worth the trouble!
