Tracking the number of people and hours spent on community service projects is a huge challenge that committee and event chairs don't always record.
On the other hand, chairs are often diligent about providing makeup lists of committee members for meetings and events.
Could ClubRunner provide a monthly report totaling the numbers for each of the different makeups (based on description) being reported in the Attendance module?
And if a field were included in the makeup record for the number of hours or portions of an hour involved in the makeup, that would further help clubs tally the data.

I agree. Documenting volunteer hours and make up meetings is labour intensive for both the secretary and the person logging the hours. Would you consider adding a module under My Clubrunner where a member could log his/her own hours and activities and after submission would go to the secretary who would only have to approve the request to have it logged as a make up, and a bonus would be to track the volunteer hours for each person and the club as a whole. If you wish I could flesh this out in more detail

    Hi Tom & Roger,

We know how important documenting volunteer hours are and this is something we've been discussing how to make it available for the clubs. There is also a bigger discussion about tracking engagement in ClubRunner as a whole. I can't share more on this right now since details haven't been fully worked out yet, but we are hearing clearly from clubs that this is something that they want.

Thank you both for your feedback regarding this, and of course we are open to additional feedback and suggestions on this front.

I've been looking for this sort of feature for some time. In fact I'd like to see the option to enable Rotarians to enter their own makeups and hours without Club executive input or approval. Doing it via the mobile app would be optimal. It can always be monitored through reports and corrected as necessary but would certainly eliminate a lot of work upfront. It might also lead to more engagement by members in and of itself as they have responsibility and get instant feedback for what their doing.

I understand that some clubs may not want to give this level of authority to every member but at least it should be available for clubs that chose to work on the honor system. Perhaps some access control option could be devised.

    My two cents..

Do we have an update on this idea?

Yes! Volunteer hour tracking is under development right now. We will first release it to several clubs who beta test new features for us. After a few weeks, we will release it to all Clubs.
Volunteer hour tracking will work by having a member create a volunteer sign up in. In the volunteer sign up list the member can set tasks with times. Example, 9 am to 12 pm a volunteer would be needed. Lets say I volunteer for that spot. After the date of the task I would gain 3 hours of volunteer time from that signup list. If left early or stayed longer, I can enter in my own volunteer hours.
At this time Volunteer hour tracking will be only available on ClubRunner, not in the APP. We may come out with an option to enter volunteer hours on the APP in the future.
