What has RI done that is causing the 2019-20 Presidential theme logo to change colors on a website?

Please check out my little rant about the 2019-2020 Presidential theme and how the colours seem to change from the templates to Photoshop and hence to a ClubRunner website. Does it have to do with the four colour options (PMS coated & uncoated, CMYK – C & U)? I always change the size of an image to fit the ClubRunner page so that the image doesn't download slowly. That is why most images get adjusted on Photoshop.

This FB comment by Pieter Zeeuwen hits the nail on the head: “ while I don’t like the extra work that goes into updating websites and such, more importantly, all printed matter (I know, so old school) is out of date on July 1st. And very visibly so.

I would rather have an annual theme without all the branding.

It can distract from the overall Rotary brand, especially if it is as colourful and confusing as next year’s. Confusing because figuring out what it all means is beyond any normal person, even Rotarians.

I dislike next year’s logo even more because the colour scheme is very different in different applications. That is not a logo. That is a family of logos- all for just 12 months.”

    Hi John,

The coloring issue that I see, it looks like Rotary may be using the print version (CMYK) as the image, instead of the PNG for the web. The print version has a different color profile, and looks very off when viewed online, as its missing the profile to shade the colors directly. Most browsers won't support it!

I would always recommend using the MyRotary resource for obtaining the current and upcoming year Presidential theme: https://my.rotary.org/en/news-media/office-president/presidential-theme

The one we normally load into ClubRunner for use is the TYYXXEN_PMS-C.png file. For this year, that would be the T1920_PMS-C.png file from the theme zip file that is downloaded.

Thanks for that information Zach. I tend not to put it on the Club site because I aim the club site at the public. Those who manage District sites should make note of the file to use. I had downloaded the Zip file with the designs but had no idea which one to use on the website.
