Has anyone else noticed a consistent delay between the time a new story is saved and posted and the time it appears on the home page or story page.

I am surprised by how long it seems to take. Once I post a story, I open a new tab/window upload a new club website homepage and click on Stories archive. Usually the new story has not arrived yet. I have never timed the delay and I should.

This delay becomes particularly annoying when I do see my post and discover an error and then have to go back and edit it. I rarely use the preview pane. It isn't useful for seeing an error in spacing under the title and story, which can easily happen because the coding doesn't take. I use font heading 2 for titles. I try to check the source code but sometimes forget.

    Any suggestions.

    Hi John,

We’ve been monitoring an issue for a bit now where the website update (rendering) service runs into “micro” backlogs. We see a small number of requests (on average less than 50) get delayed for 1-5~ minutes, and then are processed successfully. We have not been able to identify the direct cause of these micro backlogs, and have been attempting to make changes to reduce or eliminate them from happening at all. While we have made some minor progress, we have not yet fully resolved the issue.

One of the things that will be rebuilt during the renovation process will be how this website update service works. Once rebuilt the issue should not continue as it will be using an entirely new method/functionality to deliver these updates to your website.

For the time being you can rest assured that any changes you are making to your club’s website will be published.

We do apologize for the inconvenience that you and others are running into, and hope to have this addressed in the near future.

I concur with John Borst the refresh/rendering of edit made, not only to stories but website menu, etc., are taking waaay too long. I made a change to the home page footer early Saturday Dec 7. No change on Sunday, only today Monday Dec 9 did the change appear. I realize this was over the week-end but still...!

As per John's comment regarding using the "Preview Page", I do not normally use it either, but when these delays started to appear several weeks ago, I tried the preview just to see what appeared there. The preview showed the correction properly, so the edit updates correctly somewhere, but not on the live site.

Thanks Zach for your comments. Keep at it ;-)

If you run into an issue with your menu or some other part of the website not publishing, please let us know and we'll take a look into it!

The issue with menus, footers, and a few other items not publishing as expected that Han's had is now resolved.

Currently, when making changes to a custom site page, my changes will not publish to the live site and the custom page says "DRAFT" on it no matter how many times I publish it. Is there a server load issue going on? I am using the New Website (Beta) wizard to make my changes. Thank you.

    Hi Erik,

While this topic is from 2019, the issue you're running into is similar, but not quite the same cause.

We have a news post on ClubRunnerSupport.com and here in the community as well, noting that website updates may be delayed:
    https://www.clubrunnercommunity.com...uption-delayed-rendering-website-updates.634/
    https://www.clubrunnersupport.com/n...nterruption-delayed-rendering-website-updates

We are monitoring today, and started to observe a new delay with our changes in place. The team is continuing to investigate and work to resolve this issue fully. Additional updates will be posted in the news links!

Never mind. It was just a server delay in posting the updated pages.
